KAWA Uganda: Connecting Schools Online Across Uganda’s 135 Districts

In today’s digital era, access to online resources and a strong digital presence are essential for educational growth. With Uganda’s administrative structure spanning 135 districts, including Kampala, KAWA Uganda is dedicated to fostering digital transformation in schools. Our mission is to ensure that every school in Uganda, whether Primary, Secondary, or Tertiary, is part of a connected, knowledge-sharing network. By creating websites and blogs for schools willing to sustain hosting costs, we’re building a foundation for long-lasting, accessible digital education resources.

How KAWA Uganda Supports Schools

Through the KAWA Online School Links initiative, we’re partnering with schools and educators to support various educational needs:

  1. New Curriculum Implementation
KAWA provides tools and resources that align with Uganda’s updated curriculum. Our digital resources, training, and support make it easier for schools to adapt to the new educational standards.

  2. Digital Teaching & Learning Resources
Our Internet in a Box platform, known as KAWA Connect, brings rich educational content to schools with limited internet access. It’s packed with digital teaching and learning materials, enabling students and teachers to access valuable resources offline.

  3. Teacher Training in Child Protection and Special Educational Needs
We believe in a safe, inclusive learning environment for every child. KAWA trains teachers to protect children and address Special Educational Needs, ensuring all students receive the support they need.

  4. ICT Clubs for Students
To inspire the next generation of tech-savvy leaders, KAWA helps schools set up ICT clubs. These clubs empower students with essential digital skills, nurturing their curiosity and preparing them for future opportunities.

  5. Teacher Professional Development
Continuous learning is essential for educators. KAWA’s Teacher Professional Development programs offer training and workshops to enhance teaching skills, adapt to modern educational challenges, and integrate digital tools in the classroom.

Celebrating Collaborative Success

This endeavor wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of ICT teachers across Uganda who have taken the initiative to champion digital transformation in their schools. Their efforts have been instrumental in making KAWA’s vision a reality. We extend our gratitude to the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) for supporting KAWA Uganda’s mission to connect schools online. This partnership is paving the way for a digitally connected education system that supports both students and teachers.
