The ICT Club Patron’s Mandate
Patrons confirm institutional approval, safeguard learners, review safety, and ensure learners build the project themselves.
- Permitted: Asking guiding questions, connecting learners to subject teachers, organizing mock pitch clinics.
- Prohibited: Writing code, purchasing pre-made apps, inventing test metrics, taking speaking turns during judging.
Mentors & Industry Specialists
Mentors offer industry context, suggest debugging steps, and review architecture under strict safeguarding guidelines.
- All mentor sessions must be scheduled through school patrons. Private communications with minors are prohibited.
- Mentors must sign conflict-of-interest disclosures before assessing competitions.

School leaders approve participation, allocate computer laboratory access time, authorize internal pilots, and ensure learner safety during regional/national travel.

- Never publish learner telephone numbers, home locations, or marks.
- No unconsented biometric, facial tracking, or surveillance apps.
- School management systems require written Headteacher authorization.

- No exposed 240V AC mains electrical circuits in learner prototypes.
- Health apps must display clear non-diagnostic educational disclaimers.
- All off-campus research requires parent & school patron permission.
