Peter rounds off this teaching about Christian behaviour by telling his readers to love one another and be kind and humble with one another (compare with John 15:12, 1 John 3:11 and 4:7). In 3:9 we are reminded of the teaching of Jesus in Luke 6:27-36. A quotation follows from Psalm 34:12-16 indicating that evil must not be met with evil but with good.
