The doctrine of the Holy Spirit
Teaching about the Holy
Spirit is not so prominent in the letter as it is in the writings of Paul, but
it is not lacking. 1:2 refers to the work of the Holy Spirit in the new people
of God who were made a holy people by his Spirit, I: 12 refers to the Spirit of
Christ. Christians are to be a 'spiritual temple' and offer 'spiritual and
acceptable sacrifices' (2:4). The Spirit of God rests on the Christians who are
insulted because of Christ (4 :14).
