Kagadi District is a district in the Western Region of Uganda. It was created in 2016 from part of Kibaale District. The district covers an area of 1,876.9 square kilometers and has a population of 452,815 people, according to the 2014 census. The population is composed of 237,441 males and 247,680 females, with an average household size of 6.1 people. The district has 74,144 households and 10 financial institutions.

The district is divided into 10 counties, which are further subdivided into 26 sub-counties and 10 town councils. The district headquarters are located in Kagadi Town, which is also the largest urban center in the district. The district has a road network of 1,017 kilometers, of which 157 kilometers are paved and 860 kilometers are unpaved.

The district has 84 health facilities, including one general hospital, one health center IV, 14 health center IIIs, and 68 health center IIs. The health facilities serve a population of about 5,400 people per facility. The district also has 136 government primary schools and eight government secondary schools, with a total enrollment of 86,433 pupils and students.

Kagadi District, Uganda, consists of a comprehensive administrative network that includes 36 lower local government centers, 150 Parishes, and 900 villages. In the 2020 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations, several schools in Kagadi District achieved notable results. Paacwa Modern SS stood out as the top-performing secondary school with a pass rate of 27.78% from the 54 students who sat for the exams.

Mother Mary High School, Kagadi took the second position with a similar pass rate of 27.78%. Rounding off the top three was St. Mary’s Pre-Religious Training SS.

Other schools in Kagadi District that showcased commendable performance included United Progressive SS with an 11.25% pass rate, St. Francis Xavier Modern SS with 8.96%, Public SS, Mabaale with 7%, Buyaga Progressive High School, Kagadi with 6.67%, Fountain Of Hope SS, Kagadi with 6.40%, St. Margaret Mary Muhorro Girls with 5.97%, and Uganda Martyrs SS Mugalike with 5.56%.

9. St. Margaret Mary Muhorro Girls: 5.97% pass rate (4 out of 67 candidates passed)
10. Uganda Martyrs SS Mugalike: 5.56% pass rate (3 out of 54 candidates passed)
