In the New Testament we see both Jewish and Gentiles cultures undergoing testing and challenging. Both Jew and Gentile believers had to face up to what was incompatible in their cultures with living the new kind of life they had found in Jesus Christ. The cultures of our modem society face the same challenges and testing. Something is not good or bad just because it is found in a particular society; the test of any custom or practice is whether it is compatible with the lifestyle of those who have been reborn as the spiritual children of God.
