An extraordinary fact of Church history is that persecution or opposition usually strengthens the Church in the end. In our own time this has happened in countries where authorities have tried to oppose or even de the Christian faith. If Christians have the courage to stand against persecution and to find ways to maintain witness in difficult situation the result is likely to be a purified and stronger faith and Christian munity.
