JMT SACCO aims to support farmers, market vendors, traders, artisans, small business owners and other working people to build more secure livelihoods. Through practical training, savings support and access to affordable, responsible credit, we will help members improve an existing income-generating activity and, where feasible, develop an additional source of income. Our approach recognises daily, irregular and seasonal earnings, helping members save according to their means, plan for household needs and grow step by step.

Commencing operations on 1 June 2020, JMT SACCO was founded by educators empowered through KAWA Uganda who understood that professional dedication must be paired with financial independence.

No. While founded by educators, JMT SACCO is open to workers, farmers, entrepreneurs, parents, and all eligible community members who commit to disciplined saving and responsible credit.

Shares represent non-withdrawable ownership equity. They can be transferred or sold to another eligible member upon exit, but are not withdrawable on demand like ordinary savings accounts.

With reducing-balance interest, interest is calculated only on the remaining unpaid principal each month rather than on the original total. As you repay, your interest cost decreases monthly.

Through strict governance: annual AGM audits, independent supervisory committee oversight, verified collateral/guarantor policies, and secure digital ledger administration.
