Tropical climate

Tropical climate occurs in broad zones to the north and south off the Equatorial belt. Two seasons are generally recognised, the dry season and the rains.  It is possible to distinguish a cool season which runs from December to February in the Northern Hemisphere and hot (Feb-May) within the dry part of the year.  The dry season becomes longer as the desert borders are approached, and the actual amount of the rainfall decreases.  This is the reason why the tropical climate is sometimes termed as transitional.  The tropical climate can be said to be equatorial like during the rains and desert like during the dry season.
