Climatic characteristics of Equatorial region

•    Very high temperature of 240  270C.
•    There is a small diurnal range.
•    A small annual range.
•    High and heavy rainfall of 1500  2250 mm throughout the year.
•    The area receives convectional rainfall accompanied by lightening and thunder.
•    There is high relative humidity.
•    Those areas usually have equal days and nights called the equinox.
•    The areas also have thick cloud cover.
•    There is no marked dry season throughout the year.
•    Most of the areas have low atmospheric pressure forming the Inter tropical Convergence Zone.
