The Advantages of copper mining to Zambia.

Zambia has earned very high foreign exchange from copper exports which has led to its economic development.
Provision of employment to the local Zambians who work in the mines.
There has been the growth of towns with ¼ million people.  Some of the towns are
Ndola, Mufulira, Sakania, Luanshya, Chingola, etc these have shopping centres, good residential houses and many facilities for the people.
Many industries have been set at Ndola, Kitwe and Nkana.  These produce cheap goods for the people, provide revenue to the government and provide employment to the people.
There has been subsequent mining of other mineral in the copper belt for example cobalt at Chimbalume and Nkana, Mananose and Lead at Kabwe as well as gold, zinc and silver which are removed during copper processing.
There has been development of infrastructure for example transport network, schools, hospitals, hotels, and recreation grounds.
Provision of potential markets to the agricultural products by the copper mines and the towns that have come up.
Promotion of international relations.
