Hydro electric power

H.E.P. is the energy derived from harnessing the movement of water.  Because water is in plenty and continues to flow throughout the year makes H.E.P. inexhaustible.  The establishment of an electric power station depends on the following factors:

•    The large volume of water.
•    Steep gradient that can increase on the speed of water to create a force that can turn turbines.
•    Regular and reliable water supply to ensure constant power output.
•    Presence of lakes to regulate the flow of rivers.
•    Space for a reservoir.  This is to hold water after building of a dam.
•    Ready market since it cannot be stored.
•    Heavy capital input for purchase of machines and to pay for the technocrats.
