How groundnuts are grown.

•    Land is prepared by farmers either manually or by use of tractors.
•    Seeds are either broadcast in clean garden or straight rows are made and shallow hotels with enough spacing between them are dug in which 2-4 seeds are dropped.
•    Seeds in holes are then covered with soil lightly for proper germination.
•    Fertilizers are normally applied as seeds are planted.
•    Weeding occurs when the plants flowering.
•    When groundnut seeds are ready, harvesting takes place by     uprooting using hands and the farmers remove the G.nut seeds from the stalks.
•    The seeds are taken for drying before shelling takes place.
•    The crop may be inter cropped with maize or guinea corn by peasant farmers.
