Shared traditions
The following
traditions are found in both gospels: the ministry of John the Baptist; the
calling of disciples whom Jesus teaches; Jesus the teacher, healer and prophet;
hostility against Jesus from the Jewish religious leaders; the feeding of the
five thousand, walking on the water; the cleansing of the Temple; the main
events of the Passion narrative beginning with the entry into Jerusalem and the
anointing at Bethany; the Resurrection.
In John's gospel as
well as in the gospel of Mark, the kerygma can be clearly traced.
