1:35 emphasizes the total obedience of Jesus to the guidance of his Father by showing that while others were still sleeping, Jesus was seeking the will of his Father in prayer. But he was interrupted by Simon and his friends who found that he had left the house and came to bring him back because already crowds were looking for him. Mark implies that the people of Capernaum wanted him to stay there because of his powers to heal but what Jesus says in 1: 38 shows that no place could monopolize Jesus. He then moved away from Capernaum out into the district of Galilee.
