The main uses of palm oil

•    Palm Oil is partly a subsistence food crop for most families in Nigeria.
•    Domestically the Palm Kemal is used as cooking Oil.
•    For making Soap which is used for washing.
•    For making  Margarine.
•    For making Wax Candles which are used for lighting in homes.
•    For making chocolates, shoe polish and cosmetics which are commonly used in homes.
•    The leaves are used for thatching huts.
•    The dried fibres and shells provide fuel in homes.
•    Used as a lubricant in Machines.
•    For manufacture of Palm wine which is a form of alcoholic drink.
•    Provision of cash income to the farmers. This helps them to improve on the standard of living.
