Population movement
The term migration refers to the movement of people from one region to another. Permanent and semi- permanent migration has influenced the distribution of people over the earth’s surface. Some parts of the continent are densely populated while others are sparsely populated. There are two main types of population movement.
Permanent migration: This involves people leaving their homes without the intention of returning.
Temporary migration: Involves people living their homes for a short period of time.
Permanent migration of people: Migration of a permanent nature can be classified as follows: International migration and internal migration.
