Occupational (structure) distribution of population
The different occupations in Africa include:
Primary industry: extractive industries , like mining, agriculture, fishing, lumbering,
Secondary industry: manufacturing, changing the form of commodity, service industry
Direct- banking, transport etc.
Indirect- teaching, tourism, health, insurance entertainment etc.
Many people in Africa are employed in primary industries and very few in the secondary and service industries. This phenomenon has led to low level of development.
