Population distribution in Africa.
African population is unevenly distributed. Large areas of the Sahara and other desert regions have no people at all. Some dry grasslands and tropical forests are also very thinly settled. On the other hand , certain areas are greatly overcrowded, for example:
The Nile river heavily populated regions if the most heavily populated region on the earth. Her population density is 4,000 p’ple m² (1,550 p’ple km²).
Sections of the Mediterranean coasts; Parts of Nigeria- the Niger Delta and Kano-Katsina region of Northern Nigeria. The coastal areas of West Africa, (Ghana, Ivory Coast etc). The lake region of Eastern Africa
• The Ethiopian highlands. Darkar-Barthust region of West Africa.
• The Johannesburg industrial region of South Africa.
• The copper belt of Zambia and Zaire (DRC)
• The eastern coastal regions of Africa and the south east coast.
