1.    Larger number of animals are reared on natural pastures.
2.    There is communal grazing.
3.    It is in areas without permanent settlement in one place.
4.    It is in  areas with unreliable rainfall.
5.    Pastoralists occupy areas with low population.
6.    Indigenous cattle are reared.
7.    Nomads do not grow crops.
8.    Animals are for subsistence purposes.
