In this last healing miracle recorded in Mark's gospel, the beggar showed great determination and faith. Jesus' response to him contrasted with the lack of pity of the crowd (10:48). The title by which the beggar called Jesus was a significant Messianic title. In Isaiah 29: 18, 35:5, 42:7, healing of the blind was understood as one of the blessings the Messiah would bring. '
