Trawling

A trawl net is a big net shaped like a bag and open at one end. The net is kept open by otter boards. At the top of the open end, there are floats and at the bottom there weights. A trawl net is normally dragged at the bottom of the ocean floor by a trawler boat.  Trawl nets are therefore suitable for catching demersal fish-a kind of fish found at great depth near there sea bed. It requires the ocean floor to be smooth to avoid damage. A large requires more than forty people to operate properly.
