Absence of water bodies which can evaporate to form convectional rainfall. Absence of vegetation cover so as to transpire and release moisture in the atmosphere.
Absence of warm moist winds.
Location in the continental interior far away from the winds which derive their moisture content from the adjacent Ocean.
The effect of the cool and cold Ocean currents on the prevalent moist winds from the Sea move reaching the heated area.
Global warming due to general increase on World temperatures.
Overgrazing which leads to removal of the vegetation cover by animals.
Deforestation, which has made the deserts very dry, bare with no rain.
Over cultivation which has exhausted the soils and turned the land bare with high chances of soil erosion.
