The main plantation is at Harbel on the Farmington river 25 km from the coast.  The second plantation lies 40km inland on the Cavalla river.
The extreme southern section of Harbel’s 34,000 ha estate is occupied by the processing factory, the clinical research laboratory, a dispensary, transport, buildings and administration offices.
The remainder of the plantation is divided into 45 separate sections to facilitate administration and orderly  tapping of the trees. The whole plantation is crossed by a network of roads.
Within the divisions are botanical research gardens, research and seed selection centres, rubber nurseries, saw mills, a brick factory, a club house, a hydroelectric power station, a soft drinks factory, a plant manufacturing rubber cups, sandals, and soap, and a wireless transmitting station.  The plantation is virtually self-contained.
