Growth
Locusts migrate over very long distances and are destructive to crops as they migrate.
They are also used as food.
Life cycle of a locust/grasshopper:
- The female lay eggs in sand after mating.
- The eggs hatch into nymphs after two weeks.
- The nymphs are wingless and they moult through instar stages as wing buds develop.
- Wings appear after six weeks making it an adult.
