Relevance of the theory to LDCS

  • In some parts of the world (LDCs) population exceeds food supply i.e. food shortage is experienced.
  • Land in some parts of the developing countries is subject to fhe. law of diminishing returns due to over cultivation.
  • Land problems are common issues in many LOCS , including Uganda.
  • Population in the world is being checked by epidemics like aids; wars etc. thus positive checks are in operation controlling the population'.
  • To a limited extent, population is still being checked by natural methods e.g. breast feeding etc.
  • To some extent, population is controlled by delayed marriages especially through prolonged marriage of girls, high age of consent etc.
