Discussion and research
1.
Read the well-known account in Luke
5:27-31 of how Jesus went to the house of Levi the tax collector. Then write
two imaginary letters, one from Levi to his brother and the other from a
leading Pharisee in Jerusalem, both letters giving an account of the day when
Jesus met Levi. Try to put yourself imaginatively into the situation of each
man who is writing the letter.
2.
Choose any recent international event
which you have heard about and which involves two groups of people who are in
conflict. Write a brief account of the event as it might come from each group.
3.
How would you answer a student who says
this? 'I can't take seriously the God who walks around in the garden of Eden
and seems just like a man.'
