JESUS AS A HIGH PRIEST

Jesus Christ is greater Aaron as a priest because he played more superficial roles among the people he served as compared to him.

He brought the good news of salvation in the entire world and through him every believer would be saved.

Jesus served in the temple of God. He was more concerned with the hearts of believers than their bodies.

Jesus came as a universal priest and he served everyone who believed in and his message. However, Aaron only served the people of Israel.

Jesus proved that had a direct contact and relationship with the Almighty God, who he presented as his father.

Jesus used his own blood to purify the life of every believer. He died on the cross for every believer to have a new life. However, Aaron used the blood of the sacrificial animals to purify the people of Israel.

Jesus' purification is both for the spirit and body of the people but Aaron was only concerned with the physical purity of the people of Israel.

Jesus offered himself as the perfect sacrifice on the cross in order to save every believer from the bondage of sins. However, Aaron presented animals on the altar as sacrifices to God.

Jesus had the power to forgive the sins of all the believers as he forgave the woman caught in adultery while Aaron left the work of forgiveness to God.

Jesus had the power to perform miracles to liberate his believers from their dilemma. The sick, the lame and the dead were all healed and restored.

Jesus urged every believer to feed on his blood and body for their own salvation. However, Aaron fed the people of Israel with the sacrificial meal.

Jesus was more concerned with the spiritual life of every believer rather than the physical appearance which was the concern of Aaron.

Jesus was consecrated and directly sent by God himself to save the entire human race from the bondage of sins.

He closely associated with everyone including both the righteous and the sinners or the outcasts. However, Aaron served in a community where the sinners were isolated.
