Soil profile
Soil profile refers to the vertical arrangement of soil particles from the top to the parent rock. This shows different colours and texture. Within the soil, each main layer is called a Horizon. Most soils tend to show three or four horizons.
Soil is an important resource. Each soil horizon is distinctly visible in this photograph.
