Recording / sketching:

This involves putting down information on paper in form of field notes or sketches, diagrams and graphs using pens, pencils, rulers etc. It is used by writing down field notes or drawing sketches, tables, diagrams, charts and graphs.

Advantages:

Learn geographical skill of drawing sketches, tables and statistical diagrams.

Information recorded can be kept for a long time and not easily forgotten.

Sketching summaries geographical information obtained in the fields.

      Disadvantages:

Recording is limited by speedy respondents

It also limited weather changes

Sketching is limited by physical obstructions e.g. hilly plates, thick forests etc.

Insoundibility or noise can limit this method

Inaccurate recording due to faulty tools etc.
