Map orientation

It involves turning the map up to the point where the features on the map tally with those on the ground or turning the map up to the point where the true north on the map tally with the north on the ground.

One should describe how the map was turned to a high with the features.

Advantages:

It helps in identifying some significant features on the ground to see if they relate well with those on the map.

It teaches skills of map reading and interpretation, finding the right direction.

It helps to identify new developments in the area.

Disadvantages

It is limited by lack of enough base maps in schools

Physical obstructions make some features not to be seen

It is also limited by lack of update information on base maps.
