Results of the war
1. Namibia finally got her independence on March 21st 1990 under Sam Nujoma as President.
2. Many people lost their lives in the struggle.
3. Many others were displaced within the country.
4. Many people fled the country and became refugees in the neighbouring countries.
5. Property was destroyed.
6. Many countries outside Africa recognized the country's struggle.
7. Namibia became a member of the United Nations and the OAU.
8. There was general suffering caused famine and torture during war.
9. People were given better education for first time.
10. Apartheid policy in Namibia ended.
11. South Africa withdrew her political and economic interests from Namibia
12. Elections were held in 1994 and were observed and supervised by the UN.
13. People enjoyed their fundamental rights and freedoms
