Benefits of the scheme
1. Flooding of R. Zambezi was controlled

5. Provision of H.E.P. to the people.

i. Displacement of people caused suffering.
ii. Resettlement of the people was expensive for the
government.
iii. The accumulation of silt on the river bed.
iv. The existence of water snails which cause bilharzia.
v. The ponding back of water affects the neighbouring areas.
