Organisation of Commercial Banks:
Independent Unit Banking:- The independent unit bank is the financial counterpart of the sole trader. It is a bank that operates one office and that is not related to other banks through either ownership or control. The advantages of a unit banking system are that:-
- it ensures the decentralization of financial power.
- it encourages greater attention to the local needs and offers personal services.
- it is easier to examine.
- if the independent bank fails, the resultant effects are not widespread, they affect only the region it serves.
