Organisation of Commercial Banks:

Independent Unit Banking:- The independent unit bank is the financial counterpart of the sole trader. It is a bank that operates one office and that is not related to other banks through either ownership or control. The advantages of a unit banking system are that:-

  • it ensures the decentralization of financial power.
  • it encourages greater attention to the local needs and offers personal services.
  • it is easier to examine.
  • if the independent bank fails, the resultant effects are not widespread, they affect only the region it serves.
