Money
Money is anything that is generally acceptable by everyone as payment for goods and services, taxes and debts. The commodity used as money does not need to be attractive or the actual outward look of money is not of great importance, as long as the item chosen as money is generally acceptable, it is money.
All these at the time of their use as money, passed freely from hand to hand and were generally acceptable in payment and settlement of debts. To-day most countries use bank notes and coins as money.
Each country has its own basic unit of money. This includes a shilling for Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, a dollar for US and pounds Sterling for UK, a Japanese Yen for Japan, Kwacha for Zambia. The money in use in a country is called its currency.
