Types of irrigation
Basin Irrigation: Some times known as flood irrigation. This type of irrigation was practiced in Egypt for a long time.
Perennial irrigation: This involves supplying of water to the growing crops throughout the year.
Annual irrigation: This is practice in areas receiving inadequate rainfall amounts during some seasons.
Tank irrigation: This is where water is tapped and stored from the occasional rainfall so that it can be used during the rainy season.
Well irrigation: This is where a shaft is sank into the ground below the water table to tap water which seeps and collects in it.
