KAWA is proud to announce the appointment of Dr. Susy Maria Rogers as the Chief Online e-Moderator, a milestone that strengthens our long-term commitment to empowering teachers through continuous professional development (CPD), research, and innovation.

This announcement follows her powerful presentation at Makerere University, where Dr. Susy delivered a keynote on her influential Pedagogical Variation Learning Theory. Her lecture inspired educational stakeholders to reflect deeply on how digital pedagogy and innovative instructional models can transform teaching and learning in Uganda.

A Philosopher of Pedagogy With a Passion for Innovation

During her presentation, Dr. Susy emphasized the role of research-driven approaches in modern education. Her Pedagogical Variation Model (PVM)โ€”developed in 2013โ€”continues to shape global conversations around online learning and effective teaching strategies.

Shortly after her Makerere engagement, Dr. Susy formally accepted KAWAโ€™s invitation to join the team as Chief e-Moderator. In her acceptance letter, she wrote:

โ€œMany thanks for your much-appreciated hospitality.
It is with great pleasure that I accept the opportunity of becoming a member of your team of e-moderators.
Again, it was a tremendous honour to be your Keynote Speaker, and I look forward to the data generated from the questionnaires to evaluate the Pedagogical Variation Model (Rogers, 2013) for online learning and teaching.โ€

Her appointment marks an important step in strengthening KAWAโ€™s digital training programs, particularly in online facilitation, mentoring, and professional support for teachers across Uganda.
