Bugweri District is an education, agricultural, and commercial corridor in the Busoga Sub-region of Eastern Uganda. Operational since 1 July 2018 after being carved out of Iganga District, Bugweri covers approximately 378.9 square kilometres. It is bordered by Iganga District to the west, Bugiri District to the east, and extends towards Mayuge District to the south. The district administrative headquarters are situated at Busesa Town Council, approximately 55 kilometres from Jinja City and roughly 136 kilometres east of Kampala along the main highway corridor.
